In the Long Run: Harsh Realities of Street Life

In The Long Run: The Harsh Realities of Street Life, is a 23-minute video intended to capture life on the streets of a major Canadian city. Aimed at youth aged 12-15, the video is designed to leave the viewer with a stark, and often violent, depiction of life on the street.

Features:

 • Video provides a starting point for the exploration of alternatives available to youth that need help
 • A downloadable Facilitator Guide contains lesson plans and activities for the classroom and youth agency programs
 • Links to related curriculum for all Canadian provinces
 • Guide is intended to provide teachers and youth workers with activities that promote understanding and encourage discussion and reflection
 • Since the issues are sensitive, guided discussion is recommended
