UOIT is proud to host the Canadian Safe Schools Network (CSSN) for an exclusive 2 day safe schools certification program for students in the Bachelor of Education program on Friday March 12th 9-4 pm and Saturday March 13th 9-3 pm. The Faculty of Education at UOIT is the first in Ontario to offer this training!

Safe Schools Certification has been offered for many years for practicing teachers. This program covers such topics as:
• aggressive & acting out students
• school lock down procedures
• violence prevention
• progressive discipline
• search procedures- students and their property
• expulsions and suspensions

Discipline, classroom management and violence prevention are the primary avenues to maintain order in schools and keep students and staff safe. This 2 day program will include interactive case studies, group discussions, videos and lectures from experts in the field.

Participants will receive their Safe Schools Certification Level 1 upon successful completion. This training is normally held over 3 days for a cost of $435 for licensed teachers. It is being offered here to Faculty of Education Students for $90.00. This includes resources, coffee/tea, water and certificates.
This is a unique opportunity for teacher candidate’s to improve their skills and knowledge in safe schools issues. It also provides an excellent resume enhancement which many schools now consider extremely important due to increasing school violence.

The cost is $90 per person (includes coffee/tea/water, conference materials and certificate of successful completion)
