Overview

Youth violence in schools and communities continues to be a concern across Canada. The number of young people charged with assault and weapons offences has more than doubled in the past decade. The arrival of guns in our schools is an increasing phenomenon and deserves immediate attention. Many youth remain afraid to go to school because of bullying.

The Canadian Safe School Network (CSSN) is committed to building and nurturing partnerships that enable the organization to meet its goals. As a result, CSSN works with representatives from police, education, government and the business community to find new solutions to the problem of youth violence.

CSSN raises needed funds through resource and professional development delivery, special events and corporate and individual donor programs. Thanks to our generous donors, CSSN is able to continue developing safe school resources, providing assemblies for schools, carrying out research, developing and delivering conferences for educators, providing information to the media and the public and raising awareness about youth safety and violence issues.

CSSN receives no ongoing government or United Way funding. We rely on the generous support from our corporate sponsors and community partners to ensure our goal of reducing youth violence is met.
CSSN continues to build partnerships with organizations that want to make positive contribution to safe school and youth initiatives. Please join the Canadian Safe School Network and help us continue to make Canada’s schools and communities safer for our children.
