Pauline Auty’s career has spanned over 25 years with the Peel Board of Education where she began her career as a classroom teacher and guidance counsellor. She later became a guidance consultant, then a secondary vice-principal in large urban vocational and secondary schools.

As a member of the Board of Directors of the Ontario School Counsellors Association, she developed curriculum materials focusing on self-awareness, relationships and educational and career planning for use in Ontario elementary and secondary schools. She is the recipient of the Ontario School Counsellors Association’s Howard F. Beattie Professional Contribution Award and the Elmer Huff Professional Writing Award for her curriculum writing and leadership training in Ontario.

She has taught the Ontario Guidance Specialist course at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Education and produced numerous provincial workshops on a wide variety of topics including Communication Labs, Bereavement Support Groups, Peer Helping and Conflict Resolution programs for secondary students.

At CSSN, Pauline currently develops violence prevention resources and provides in-service training to support their implementation.
